When the next generation – in the person of daughter Theresa Thaler - took over the traditional Sportpension Thaler, a total reconstruction of the building, a new name and a lot of fresh ideas happened in the house. The only things that remained were the charm and the heartfelt hospitality that mother Mariandl had brought to the hotel. The new name is an homage to this powerful woman, who always impresses guests and family alike with her lust for life and passionate ideas.

Deeply rooted traditions blending with innovative ideas. The customized selection of the construction materials and interior was the basis for the choice of colours for our graphic design and web design. The colours used symbolically represent the philosophy of Thalers Mariandl: a rich green for the lush moss in the forests; grey like the famous loden made in Schladming; and rose like the fragrant blossoms of the Alpine rose. The contrast between fresh ideas and old traditions is not only reflected in the house, but also in the choice of fonts used for the logo and the website.
